In 2011 the editors crystallized and published a new syndrome called ASIA (Autoimmune Syndrome Induced by Adjuvants) in which an adjuvant, and specifically aluminum in different vaccines can induce in genetically prone subjects diverse autoimmune clinical manifestations. These clinical autoimmune findings can eventually evolve into a full characterized autoimmune disease. These findings, as well as all the literature published so far on the vaccine-autoimmunity relationship, are summarized in this timely book.
